Brent’s Festival Promoter Team

Introduction

If you’ve got to this page, it means that you probably love festivals, doofs and all things music! If that’s the case then I invite you to join my promoter team which will provide you with an opportunity to make money and earn free tickets by promoting some of Australia's biggest and best music events.

My name is Brent Honey, I’m a Naarm based DJ who runs one of Australia’s biggest and most successful promoter teams.

Personally I’ve been involved in festival promotion for three years and I’ve run my own promoter team for the last 12 months. In that time, the team has sold over 9,500 tickets to events such as Beyond The Valley, Wildlands, Strawberry Fields, Pitch Music & Arts, Spilt Milk, Let Them Eat Cake and many more.

I’m currently recruiting for new members to join the team before the 2024/25 festival season ramps up so if this is something you’re interested in, read the below information and click the button to sign up.

What does it involve?

Essentially, I will provide you with opportunities to promote large scale music festivals and events. When you promote, you will be given a unique discounted ticket link to share with your friends/followers. As people use your link to purchase tickets, you can earn rewards such as commission, free tickets, VIP upgrades and further discounts.

What do I get in return?

The ‘Promoter Deal’ for each festival is different but most of the time, you will have a deal that includes:
  • Discount: Your unique discount link usually includes a discount of approx $5-$20.
  • Early Access: Typically our discount links will go on sale prior to pre-sale and general release tickets.
  • Commission: You will usually earn commission for each ticket sold through your link. The commission is usually around $5-10 per sale. Note that festivals often require you to hit a minimum amount of sales before qualifying for payment.
  • Free Tickets: If you hit a certain amount of sales, festivals will often give you a free ticket to their event. The amount of ticket sales required is normally 5-20 for smaller events and 20-25 for larger events.

As well as benefiting from the promoter deals, you will also get to join the Facebook Group where I look after promoters by offering them heavily discounted tickets, guest list spots and other nice perks.

The promoter deal for each festival is different. Some festivals require promoters to sell a minimum of 5-10 tickets in order to be eligible for payment. Others have no minimum requirement.

Payment happens via bank transfer after the festival is complete. You will be required to submit an invoice and ABN or Statement by a Supplier Form to get paid.

Payment happens via bank transfer after the festival is complete. Payment normally goes through 1- 3 months after the festival but every festival is different. Some may pay within a month, some pay after four months.

The festivals will pay you any commission that you’ve earned. I will help to facilitate the payment but I am not the one who will be paying you, I’m the middle-man.

Yes, you will be required to declare the commission you earn as additional income on your tax return. I will provide more information to the team about how to do this when it comes to tax time.

Some festivals require you to have an ABN to receive payment, others don’t. It is recommended that everyone who joins the team has an ABN to ensure they can get paid. Getting an ABN is free and usually takes less than 24 hours. I will be able to assist you with getting an ABN once you’re part of the team if you need help.

If you’re already promoting for another host/team then you should stay with your current host. I do not wish to poach promoters from any other team. If you are unsatisfied with your current host and would like to promote under my team instead, please send me a message and we can have a chat.

As a general rule, promoters are allowed to promote as publicly or privately as they would like. However some festivals have posting requirements that promoters must follow in order to qualify for rewards. You are welcome to opt out of promoting such events if you don’t want to post publicly.

Each festival has different rules as to where you can/can’t post your unique ticket link. I will make this clear for each festival that we promote. For example, some allow promotion via TikTok and Instagram whereas others don’t allow this.

Yes, promoters must be aged 18+.

No, you will never have to pay a cent to me or any of the festivals to be involved. You will be required to declare your income from promoting as part of your tax return however. More information about that below.

We are currently promoting some events but the majority of promotion will start in around June 2024 and finish for the festival season around April 2025. If you are super keen, I will be able to get you set up with links for the events we are currently promoting.

That is completely fine, you will be able to send me a message and then we can remove you from the team. It is best to do this after you’ve already been paid for all of the commission you’ve earned.

You can promote from anywhere in the world but 90% of the events we promote are in Victoria, Australia at the moment. Therefore, it makes sense for you to join the team if most of your network/following are based in VIC or are interested in going to Victorian events.

If you have any further questions then feel free to send me a message via Facebook, Instagram or email.
